Organization Profile
HAFED is the largest Apex Cooperative Federation of the State of Haryana. It came into existence on 1st, November 1966 with formation of Haryana as a separate State. The main objectives of HAFED are:
1. To undertake and make arrangement for procurement, marketing and processing of agricultural produce and allied products.
2. To make arrangements for supply of agricultural inputs such as fertilizers, seeds and agro-chemicals.
3. To facilitate the working of the affiliated Co-operative Marketing Societies.
For achievement of these objectives, major activities of HAFED are supply of agricultural inputs namely fertilizer, pesticides, certified seeds etc.; procurement/ purchase of food-grains e.g. wheat, barley, gram, purchase and processing of paddy, oilseeds etc.
Legal Framework
- HAFED is an apex cooperative society registered under the Punjab Cooperative Societies Act, 1961.
- Governed by its Bye-laws and HAFED Common Cadre Rules, 1988 as amended from time to time.

The Managing Director is the Chief Executive Officer of the Federation and acts as per the delegated powers of the Board of Directors / Board of Administrators of Hafed.
